As FIST-BSS includes calls from several corporate applications an Outlook Profile has been created for clients to use for reporting and logging problems that are sent via email. Project Managers and the development team members will add this mailbox to their Outlook profiles. This will ensure that your emails are seen by a member of the FIST team.

In the Header of your email, in the Subject field, please indicate which corporate application you are referring to (e.g. FOIP). Please follow the application name with a brief title of the problem. In the message area of your email please be as detailed as possible as this will greatly assist us in defining the problem. Screen dumps of errors assist the development team greatly in resolving problems. Instructions for creating a screen dump are located below.

  Creating a Screen Dump
  • Ensure that the error message or problem window is active and in view on your screen. (The title bar of the error or window is highlighted, usually blue, which means it is the active window).
  • Press the 'Print Scrn' button on your keyboard. This button is usually located in the upper right-hand side of the keyboard.
  • In your email, click where you would like to paste the image and then hold down the "Ctrl" and "V" key to paste the image. Include the details and send your email .
  • Alternatively, you may send the image as an attachment using Microsoft WORD.
  • In a new document within WORD , key in your name, date, and any other information that you wish to add to the screen dump.
  • Enter a couple of blank lines.
  • Click on Edit.
  • Select Paste from the Edit menu.
  • Save the document (ensure that you know the path to where the document is being saved!).
  • Create your email and attach the WORD document.

If you are a certified forest operations inspector, reviewer or approver working for the MNR or for forest industry you can obtain a FOIP account by contacting your local FOIP User Administrator.
